Cook Co Court Case Lookup

Click the type of case you’re trying to search for in the Cook Co Circuit Court.  If you are searching “Civil, Law, Chancery...” the page that opens is a little finicky:  1) First, pick a Division from the “Division Name” drop down list.  There is a brief description of each case type for each division in the drop down.  2) Click how you want to search.  Note In the “Search by Name” field, type in at least the last name of a plaintiff or defendant and click the button for Plaintiff or Defendant accordingly.  If you are searching by case number, you must know the “division code” and the Case # may require leading zeros to be included.  3) Click the blue “Start New Search” button.  If you simply press Enter to initiate your search, the search will not be successful – you have to click the button to initiate the search.

If you are searching by someone’s name, to quickly find that specific name in the list of results, use your web browsers “Find on Page” feature by pressing the keyboard shortcut <Ctrl>F (hold down the CTRL key and press the letter F key, then release).  This opens the “Find on Page” search for most web browsers.  If not, locate your browser’s “Find on Page” feature and search for some part of the name you’re looking for.
